Z Salon and Spa (2002)
Z Salon and Spa, a 21,000 sq.ft. facility in Louisville, KY is a long respected frontrunner of the image and spa industry. Entrepreneurial winner Zenda Stakelbeck is ahead of the pack, with 3 locations and 120 employees. Zenda credits IDC with a portion of that success.
Curb appeal: The power of classic design commands authority. For that unforgettable “wow” effect that can’t look like anything else, IDC refashioned a pedestrian restaurant façade into a distinctive contemporary fusion. To create a powerful sense of entrance and heightened experience, IDC designed a grand entry with spiraling staircases.
Major retail component: IDC opened up the front of the building to allow a large area for visual merchandising, visible 24 x 7.
Private Twin Towers: Unique space for weddings and groups, IDC created twin tower rooms above the spa's public space. Two suites create a private world with private entrances, showers and balcony. Twin fireplaces flank a majestic staircase, a warm invitation to relax.
For Men Only: Z was among the first to create a separate treatment/service area for men, offering a rich, warm experience in a guys’ lounge.
Educational Platform: The facility design allows high-performance staff to oversee junior team members, as well as a theater-in-the-round for presentations and classes for staff.
"Zenda’s high degree of trust created the potential to develop a truly spectacular place." - Michael Effler, IDC
