Wellness/Fitness in a Medical Center
4500 sq. ft. within an existing 60,000 ft Wellness Center
The Memorial Hermann Corporate Hospital group developed a separate facility devoted to fitness, physical therapy, nutritional counseling, and alternative modalities. IDC was pleased to be chosen to develop the spa portion of the facility.
Features: Small men’s & women’s spa, including signature treatment: German Kneipp water resistance therapy.
Outcome: Because a spa was not originally included in the master plan for the wellness center, IDC converted an office space for spa use. Design challenges included no water or space for retail, and a convoluted entry that impacted the sense of arrival. Ultimately IDC designed a successful retail area in a different location for the entire center.
